What’s Happening
US Digestive Health and our affiliated practices have a shared goal of providing patients the high-quality, convenient care they deserve. For several months, we attempted to negotiate a new contract with United Healthcare regarding its employer-sponsored, Exchange, Medicaid plans, and Medicare Advantage health plans. Our current contract expired at midnight on September 30, 2022. Our providers were forced out of United Healthcare’s network effective October 1, 2022.
We believe patients deserve easy and convenient access to the care they need, when they need it. However, we need fair contracts with our health insurance partners to ensure we are able to provide this access to care. Over time the rates United Healthcare pays us for the care we deliver to its members, including you, has covered less and less of the cost of delivering that care. By accepting the low rates United Healthcare is demanding, our ability to maintain the same standard of care you deserve would be jeopardized. We are only asking United Healthcare for what we need in order to continue fulfilling our commitment to our patients and communities for years to come.
While we continued to urge United Healthcare to collaborate with us to reach a new agreement that allows us to continue to deliver the best possible health outcomes for our patient, our contract expired on September 30, 2022.
